Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA, is a new 5-star hotel of charm and relaxation, designed to give you the unique experience of a stay in one of the oldest cities in the world: Matera, European Capital of Culture 2019.Opened in 2018, it is located in the center of the Sassi, a UNESCO heritage site, on a ridge by the Sasso Caveoso district of Matera and has 35 rooms and suites, set in the tuff walls.
In a total area of about 5,000 square meters between rooms, rooms and outdoor spaces that are part of the Sassi district, with a wonderful SPA, with a swimming pool carved into the rock and a multifunctional room, ideal for meetings up to 40 people .
The rooms extend up to 35 or 45 square meters. They have a unique environment and enjoy large spaces that structurally trace the ancient caves dug into the tuff.

The 35 rooms have been expertly designed and furnished by the archistar Simone Micheli. The rooms structurally trace the ancient caves dug into the tuff*, as in the original houses, but are enriched with modern and functional technologies and furnishings, ideal for reliving these places in comfort and luxury. A good morning will be guaranteed by our buffet breakfast, with local and international ingredients. *Not all rooms have been carved into the tufa stone, some rooms are built in masonry with wooden roof.
